Dr. Don Barcome - 2

Dr. Don Barcome - 2

Sorry that I have been remiss in an update on my Dad. He has taken another turn for the worse, or has gotten closer to seeing my Mom (I like it better that way).

He has been home now for 2 weeks, and there have been as many, and probaly more, good times than the not-so-good ones.

Your prayers for his health and dignity through these trying times have been very special to all of us.

Saturday Afternoon: Dad has been in a coma-like period for about 48 hours now, he is as comfortable, and hopefully pain-free, as we can help him to be.

Thank you all for your prayers and friendship...

About an hour ago, my father left us to go to Heaven and be with my mother. He fought a valiant fight to the end, and left us with the pride and dignity that he lived his life with.

We would like to thank all of his friends for the compassion they have shown Dad throughout his battles with health problems.

Service plans are pending, and I will let you know soon. Good night & God Bless,,,

My thoughts are with you, Donnie, been there, it hurts. God bless.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Donnie.

God Bless

Phill Drobnick

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family Donnie

We are saddened to hear of Dr. Barcome's passing but we are thankful for having had the honor of knowing him and for all that he did for our beloved game. In his memory, we are sending a memorial to the North Dakota Curling Foundation (c/o Bob LaBonte, 204 Souris Drive, Minot, ND 58701) for the purpose of promoting junior curling in North Dakota.

Donny,

I am very sorry for your loss.

I met Dr. Barcome for the first and only time at the inaugural Forks Classic Cashspiel in 2001. The circumstances of our meeting were not the best for me, as I had fallen down on the ice in our game against Mert Thompsett at the Grand Forks Curling Club, injuring my knee. It swelled up of course, so I watched our next game from the seats at the Ralph. Doc Barcome had heard about my injury. He came up to me during that next game and examined my knee. He reassured me it was only a sprain and told me what I needed to do to get it taken care of. His kindness left a lasting impression on me. I could see why he was so well respected and admired, and I feel fortunate to have met him.

thank you all for your wonderful support, thoughts and prayers, they mean so much.
